Maryhill Dance Show
Students and staff took part in the first Maryhill Dance Show in December 2009. The show was an opportunity for students to exhibit their skills and enthusiasm with a range of dance styles and routines. Kim Hambleton and choreographer Vicky Thornton held auditions in school followed by a range of rehearsal sessions both during the school day and as an after school club. The show took weeks to construct and had a huge amount of commitment from all the students and staff involved. James Marchington assisted with the audio while various staff members gave time to production or involvement in the acts.
The Dance Show is a good reflection of the positive impact that Dance has had on the PE curriculum. The PE department now owns several dance mats and audio visual equipment allowing students of all ages and abilites to get involved with dance at their own pace and level. Dance activities are increasing within the PE curriculum along with the student interest in a variety of dance styles.
This event raised a total of £1,000 which provided funds to equip the fitness suite with mirror.

Boxercise Classes
Students have welcomed the intorduction of the new Boxercise lessons. A combination of fitness training and boxing this non contact activity is designed to premote and active approach to physical training for both male and female students.
