French Speaking Competition
Students had the opportunity to take part in a French speaking competition which took place on 12 July 2010. Students came up with original ideas to deliver to their peers entirely in spoken French. This gave an ideal opportunity for students to practice and expand their French speaking, listening and writing skills alongside their imagination. Below are some of the competition entries.
International Schools Award
As part of the new International School Award the Modern Foreign Languages department has teamed up with an overseas link school. Here is a little bit about our partner school.
Lycee Professional de St Pierre is a school that caters for students 15yrs + and follows mostly vocational courses. Overseas links are very important to them and they also have other projects and exchanges with schools in Ireland and Germany which are mentioned on their website, http://lp-stpierre.ac-reunion.fr.
The activities so far have been limited to email exchange, but there are more projects to come such as a video-conferencing activity which will hopefully be set up in the near future.
