Science News: Fireworks at Maryhill High School!
The A-level Chemistry group made their own fireworks with their teacher, Miss. Carroll. Students prepared a mixture of potassium nitrate and sugar and used different metallic compounds to give a range of colours. One student, Jonathon Hodgkinson, prepared his firework by layering the chemicals to give a fountain of diffferent colours. The lesson certainly went with a bang!
