A Bygrave

My role on the Governing body is that of staff representative. I am also a member of the Finance and School Development sub-committee. I have worked at Maryhill High School for 5 years after working at two other secondary schools. I became a teacher in 1993.

I was brought up in Chesterfield before leaving for University in London. After graduating I had a ‘real’ job as a graduate trainee but decided to leave to train as a teacher. A decision I have never regretted.

The role of Governor has allowed me to represent the staff in many important decisions that School has to make. Working with Governors gives me a valuable perspective on the impact the School has on families and its value within the Kidsgrove community.
