I love Maryhill and I am so proud to be its Headteacher.  The reason is simple – the students.  They are friendly, open, loyal and honest.  Their sense of fair play is strong and importantly they want to achieve.

I joined Maryhill in 2005 as Assistant Headteacher, became Deputy Head in 2006 and Headteacher in 2010.  Previously I had worked in Stoke-on-Trent at Burnwood High and Berryhill High, teaching English and working on the Senior team.  My own education was at Moorland Road Juniors and St Dominics school, Stoke with both my parents also teachers.

Away from school, my spare time usually involves cats, dogs, reading and of course shopping.

The Governor’s are working with me to make Maryhill an ‘Outstanding’ school.  They are incredible supportive and at the same time challenging; active, critical friends.  Our aim is to ensure the students receive the best education they can, which is what they deserve.
