I grew up in Kidsgrove but moved away to University in 1985 and didn’t return until about 3 years ago.
My wife and I have two children at Maryhill – My eldest goes into the Sixth Form in September and my youngest into year 9.  The school has been very supportive of both my children and I wanted to become a Governor in order to give some of my time in return.
My background is mainly IT although I have been involved in management within a manufacturing company and I now work at Holden Lane High School as the Senior IT Technician.   I’ve got a good understanding of how businesses work and I’m developing an understanding of how schools are run.
On the personal side I’m afraid I went to Clough Hall and I support Manchester United so that’s my re-election chances pretty much killed off.  For fun I do a little sailing or windsurfing if the weather’s right.
