Help For Heroes Headshave

Well done to Jack Hughes (9EP) and Martin Woodward (9JNB) for their fantastic fundraising for ‘Help For Heroes’. Martin and Jack took part in a sponsored headshave at Tesco on Sunday 17 July 2011.

The event started at 11am and the boys had half their heads shaved and then conducted a collection in the foyer with various friends and family, before having the other half shaved and carrying on the collection until 1pm. The person cutting the boys hair was Jack’s older brother who arrived home on a two week leave from Afghanistan just a few days before the event. He is Sapper Andrew Ridge with the Royal Engineers (101 Reg). Andrew is part of a front line bomb disposal squad in Helmand Province.

The boys raised about £450 from sponsorship, a further £550 from donations collected at Maryhill High School and a further £400 from the tin collection at Tesco giving a total of £1400-00.

Martin and Jack would like to thank Tesco, Maryhill High School staff and pupils, friends and family for their support and everyone who donated to the event.

Martin and Jack’s families, friends and everyone at Maryhill is very proud of them.
