Welcome to Maryhill High Media Arts College Health and Social Care page.
Health and Social Care is a vocational course. The style of learning is different as students will take the main responsibility. Their work will bring them into contact with professionals working in vocational areas. Students will be required to carry out research and investigations, be involved in discussions and group work and give presentations, read widely, write up portfolios and essays. Students are encouraged to use ICT. Units that are studied for the AS level are: Promoting Quality Care, Communication in Care Settings and Promoting Good Health. At GCSE, students study the following units: Promoting Health and Wellbeing, Understanding Personal Development and Relationships, Health, Social Care and Early Years Provision, and Safeguarding and Protecting Individuals.
